LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS
Do you have days where you know you’ll never feel peace again? Are you going through health problems, money problems, family problems, or just the daily stresses of every day life? Believe me, I know how you are feeling! I’ve talked about the unique stresses of a homeschooling Mom in this column before and I’ve advised praying, reading your bible and finding the time for your devotions. Yes, these are vital things, but do you have days, where all you can do is look for a place to lean? Let me share the words of the beautiful hymn, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”.
“What a fellowship, what a joy divine, Leaning on the everlasting arms; What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, Leaning on the everlasting arms.”
Can you imagine yourself leaning on the arms of our Lord? I can. I have to. It is what gets me through each day. He is the only thing that can truly bring me peace.
What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the everlasting arms; I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms.
Yes, the Lord is always near. We do not need to dread or fear anything. He is before us, behind us and beside us! He truly is our blessed peace!
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.
We are safe and secure in the arms of our Lord. Oh, such comfort! Such peace!! Remember, Jesus is waiting for you to lean on Him. He longs to bring you peace and comfort! Lean on Him and let Him guide you through your days – whatever they may bring.
